The 2019 edition of the World Schools Festival will be staged at Paul Roos Gymnasium in Stellenbosch from 25-30 March.
The festival, a brainchild of former Springbok coach Heyneke Meyer and current Paarl Boys’ High coach Sean Erasmus, was held in Paarl in April this year.
It will again feature 10 of the top rugby-playing schools in South Africa and 10 of the best teams from around the world.
Meyer, who has since taken up a director of rugby role at Top 14 club Stade Français, will continue to support the development and growth of the festival.
‘I am excited to see the developments for next year’s World Schools Festival. We started this event because we felt it can make a difference, and we saw the impact at this year’s event in Paarl,’ Meyer said.
‘It also showcased what amazing talent we have in South Africa. I am looking forward to the 2019 festival growing at Paul Roos and in the years to come.
‘We were very pleased with the success of the inaugural World Schools Festival event earlier this year, and are very excited by the response for the overseas teams who have already expressed interest in participating in 2019,’ Meyer added.
The international schools taking part will be announced closer to the event.
