SWD wing Ashchaldo Kiewiet was named U18 Craven Week Hero of the Day after his side fought back to beat the Pumas 43-22.
Both sides scored two first-half tries, but a penalty gave the Pumas a 15-12 lead at the break. Then SWD came out firing after the interval as they outscored the Pumas five tries to one in the second half to complete a stunning comeback triumph.
The lanky right winger was influential for SWD, as he bagged a brace of tries – one either side of the break – to leave his mark on the game.

Kiewiet’s first five-pointer came in the 27th minute. With his team trailing 15-7, SWD fullback Mathew Thorne fielded a kick at the back and offloaded to Kiewiet on his outside. In return, Kiewiet outpaced two defenders down the right-hand touchline before rounding a third with a lethal goose-step to touch down.
His second try was much easier to execute, as he ran on to a skip pass into a gap to dot down from close quarters.
